An 83-year-old man has been found dead after a fire tore through a retirement village near Brisbane.
Emergency crews rushed to the Burpengary Pines retirement village in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region about 9pm on Monday.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by a raging fire that had already engulfed the man’s unit, leaving nothing but ashes.

Emergency crews rushed to the Burpengary Pines retirement village in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region about 9pm on Monday.
Two cars have been destroyed along with the man’s personal belongings.
Investigators and detectives will carefully sift through the debris to determine the cause of the tragic event.
Other residents and staff had to be evacuated. The fire was extinguished by 11 p.m.
