A body has been recovered during an extensive search and rescue mission for a missing 17-year-old girl on Queensland’s Gold Coast.
The teenager, who suffers from a medical condition, was last seen on Bayberry Lane in Robina at around 8.30am on Tuesday.
Her worried family reported her disappearance to the police, who searched an area of Carrara, about 10 minutes from where she was last seen.
“A ground search and rescue is underway in the Carrara area with the assistance of SES teams and members of the public,” police said on Wednesday morning.
‘A command post has been established at the AFL ground along Nielsens Road, Carrara.
“Any member of the public who wants to assist in search efforts should meet there.”
The teenager was previously described as Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall, with blonde hair and green eyes.
Both his family and police said they were concerned for his well-being due to a medical condition.
