One person was killed and 39 others were injured, seven of them seriously, when a bus carrying Moroccan seasonal workers overturned Monday in southern Spain, according to the rescue services.
She explained that the accident occurred before dawn on a road about 50 km from Huelva, a city located in Andalusia.
The bus was carrying 34 Moroccan agricultural workers, according to the same source.
The rescue services said on the regional government’s website that “the number of people injured as a result of the bus overturned rose to 39,” stressing that the bus was carrying Moroccan seasonal workers.
She explained that “a woman died and three people were seriously injured, 14 were moderately injured and 22 were slightly injured.”
The cause of this tragedy is not yet known in a region known for its agro-food industry, as Andalusia is the first European source of fruits and vegetables.
