Antonio Conte says he takes the Europa Conference League seriously and will not make the same mistake as its predecessor by leaving its big names at home.

Tottenham have yet to win in Europe this season. They drew 2-2 in Rennes, with Nuno Espirito Santo making eight changes to his team. They then lost 1-0 at Vitesse, with Nuno making 11 changes and not using Harry Kane or Son Heung-min.

Their next away game is against Mura, who have become the whip boys of the group after losing all four of their matches. Cristian Romero will not travel after a ‘serious’ injury, but otherwise Tottenham are bringing a strong group.

“All available players are coming with us and they have to be ready to play against Mura,” said Conte. “This match is important to us.

‘We want to take it seriously, this fixture. We want to go to the next step. I will definitely adapt because personally I need to know the players much better, because there are players I need to see during a match, a competition.”

Kane will travel with the team, after meeting Italy’s Alessandro Del Piero. A friend of Conte’s, he visited Tottenham’s training ground in London this week.

“Alessandro came here to visit us,” Conte said. “He was in London as a guest for Sky, before the Chelsea-Juventus game. It was good to see him. We played together. We won together. It was good to see him again after a long time.

“We are talking about two world-class strikers. It was good for Harry to see Alessandro.’

Ryan Sessegnon takes off and Conte said, “He’s ready. I can’t wait to see his performance as he is a good player, talented player, young with room for improvement.

“Now it is important to give him regularity and to avoid injuries and to be available for every game.”
