Tommy Fury has finally detailed the reasons why he and his fiancée Molly-Mae Hague split in an emotional interview with Men’s Health.
He said his “mental health was in the frying pan” during his recovery from surgery, which came after the “best year I’ve ever had” in 2023, in which both his career and his life with Molly flourished.
Explaining how a big part of his identity was taken away from him when he could no longer train, Tommy said his diet and fitness were the first things he let go before turning to alcohol.
“I have only lived to train and for my family, and that was taken from me. So what I did for fun was I started drinking a lot. I found that’s what made me feel better,” he said, adding, “I wanted the endorphins that I would get when I finished a good session, when I finished training, when I finished fighting.”
Admitting that he went out most nights and drank until he was “blackout drunk,” Tommy’s relationship soon began to suffer.
