Tom Brady’s niece, Maya, struggled at the plate Saturday in the Women’s College World Series as Oklahoma beat UCLA 1-0.
Maya, a shortstop, struck out three times and went 0-for-4 at the plate on a difficult day for the Bruins.
The game was not an elimination game for UCLA, although its path to a national championship is certainly more difficult.
Maya was born to Maureen Brady, Tom’s sister, and Brian Timmons.
Maureen was an All-American pitcher at Fresno State and Maya’s aunt, Julie Brady, is married to two-time World Series winner Kevin Youkilis, who won both of his titles with the Boston Red Sox.

Maya comes from an elite sporting background – her uncle is none other than Tom Brady.
And Maya has been a legendary college player in her own right, twice being named Pac-12 Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024.
Maya, who turns 23 on Saturday, was born in San Mateo, California, and was also named 2020 Softball America Freshman of the Year.
Tiare Jennings’ solo home run in the third inning provided all the scoring for the second-seeded Sooners (56-6).
Freshman Kaitlyn Terry and sophomore Taylor Tinsley combined to allow just four hits for No. 6 UCLA, which saw its winning streak end at 14 games.

Brady, who turns 23 on Saturday, is a two-time Pac-12 Player of the Year as a softball star.
The Bruins (43-11) will play an elimination game Sunday against Stanford.
Kelly Maxwell pitched a two-hit game with 11 strikeouts and three-time defending national champion Oklahoma.
Maxwell faced Brady for the fourth time with two outs and none in the seventh and final inning and forced her to ground out to end the game.
