Tom Brady doesn’t have the personality to be a good NFL analyst, according to a veteran broadcaster.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, will begin his mammoth 10-year contract with Fox next season that will earn him $375 million.

The 46-year-old has yet to prove his credentials on the microphone, but his 22 years of experience as an NFL quarterback is expected to make Fox games must-watch for audiences.

The pressure will be on Brady to perform almost immediately alongside play-by-play commentator Kevin Burkhardt because he replaces Greg Olsen, who earned much praise for his work with Fox.

But legendary radio host Mike Francesa believes Brady will struggle as an analyst because the role requires a “unique quality” that he doesn’t possess.

When asked what he thought about Brady in the booth during an email segment to listeners on his BetRivers podcast, Francesa said: “I don’t think his heart is in it.

‘I don’t think his personality is that. I don’t think he’s going to be good at it. I really don’t.

“I think there is a unique quality that you have to bring that allows you, as an analyst, to see the game, see it quickly and also give it personality.”

“It is a complicated job for the analyst in football because you are going to spend a lot of time repeating.”

‘You’re going to spend a lot of time analyzing what happens in the replay. And you also have to be very nice and simplistic in the way you do it. I don’t see it there.

Although he has a spot in the Fox booth awaiting him, Brady has hinted at a possible return to the NFL at the age of 46.

Brady said earlier this month on an episode of ‘DeepCut’ that he was ‘not opposed’ to hearing from an NFL team if they wanted him to sign with them.

Brady has already retired from the NFL twice, in February 2022 and February 2023.

His first retirement lasted 40 days, with his current absence from football lasting more than 14 months. The difference with his two retirements was filing his retirement paperwork with the NFL and NFLPA nine days after his second retirement.
