Savannah Guthrie left viewers seriously impressed after her return to NBC on Wednesday morning after around-the-clock election coverage, and many were surprised to see that she was still awake.
The 52-year-old broadcaster had hosted Tuesday’s episode of Today as normal before leading the network’s primetime coverage of Donald Trump and Kamala Harris’ run for the White House later that night.
There was no rest for Savannah, who appeared on screens again early in the morning to announce that Trump had made a political comeback after being declared the winner of the 2024 US presidential election.
Hosting the special edition of Today alongside co-host Hoda Kotb, Savannah made a note to point out her trio of coffee mugs, which have no doubt been fueling her energy.
Addressing viewers, he said: ‘Hello everyone. We return at 8am on the east coast, 5am on the west coast.

‘If you’re just waking up, a long election night will stretch into the morning.
“I’ve had three cups of coffee lined up here.”
He added: “The race is still too close to call some of those western battlegrounds in Michigan.”
‘But the end result is clear as day. Donald Trump, once again, president-elect, the 45th president to return to the White House.
Stunned viewers took to X, formerly Twitter, where they expressed their surprise at Savannah’s return to their screens.
One said, ‘My God, Savannah, how are you still awake?’
Another wrote: ‘The amount of caffeine she has to pump through Savannah Guthrie’s body is probably alarming. The girl has been killing it on television for 24 hours. Giving him my coffee.
‘I wake up, I see @SavannahGuthrie on TV… when I get home from work, it’s on TV. I wake up today and she’s STILL on TV. Have you slept!? said a third.

Before the broadcast, Savannah took to Instagram where she said she was “always so proud to walk into NBC News on election night.”
