If Monday proved a promising start, Tuesday was a belated baptism of fire as Cat Deeley faced the wrath of disgruntled This Morning viewers.
Slipping into Holly Willoughby’s polished stiletto heels, Deeley made her second consecutive appearance as the show’s official full-time host alongside co-host Ben Shephard.
But her habit of interrupting guests – among them celebrity chef John Torode – quickly irritated viewers, with many airing their grievances on social media.
Fans of the show were particularly annoyed that Deeley and Shephard regularly talked over each other as they navigated their way through the various segments of the show.
Highlighting her performance as Torode – a show regular – talking them through her ultimate Thai green curry, one unimpressed viewer wrote: ‘She never stops making noise!’

Another wrote: ‘The show is called This Morning. NOT the Ben Shepherd Show or the Cat Deeley Show. STOP talking over each other and stop interrupting the guests. OMG – what a noise!’
While a third shouted: ‘Cat Deeley needs to listen more instead of talking all the time. John Torode tried to explain a recipe but she kept interrupting, I prefer Ben Shepherd.
“I might have to turn off this morning, now she’s there all the time. She’s too over the top.’
Another joked: “Will someone take Cat Deeley outside and give her a tranquilizer shot or an anesthetic.”
The pair were also criticized after interviewing Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond, who regularly host the show on Fridays.
On X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: ‘Just watched Dermot O’Leary being interviewed on ‘This Morning’ by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard.
‘In my opinion Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond should have been given the job full time!’
Another added: ‘Wow!! I stopped watching because Alison kept interrupting all the guests, but especially the chefs, so they don’t get to explain everything they’re doing and end up being busy and running out of time.’
‘Cat Deeley permanent presenter? No not for me! Too annoying she makes my ears bleed,’ tweeted another.
Others were more charitable with their opinions, commenting: ‘They are professionals. That’s what it needs for some time’.
While another wrote: ‘It was an absolute pleasure to see you both today…really amazing.’
A third added: ‘You two are brilliant!! Two of my favorite presenters ever.’
