Bunnings Warehouse has revealed its three best-selling items of 2024, demonstrating how much safety and keeping up appearances mean to Australians.
According to the popular retailer, the Ryobi cordless string trimmer was the most expensive item.
The string trimming kit costs $219 and customers can add more batteries, which also work in other Ryobi products.
The string trimmer has hundreds of reviews and 276 customers gave it five stars.
‘I always felt like pruning the garden was hard work, but it’s surprisingly easy with this. I did the back yard and the front yard and felt good afterwards!’ One said.
Another said they added a higher quality line to their machine and noticed a big difference. But I thought the tool was a great investment.
However, 25 customers took the time to give one-star ratings.
One claimed he “broke in two months” before finishing his first spool of thread.

The lawn mower, which uses the same battery, is also one of the best sellers
Another said it’s frustrating to wait four hours to recharge the machine when it “only works for 20 minutes.”
The Ryobi electric lawn mower, which uses the same battery, was next on customers’ hit lists with a price of $499.
And it has attracted more than 800 reviews.
603 of them were five stars and many people recommended the lawnmowers.
“This does the job of a four stroke lawnmower, I am very happy with it,” one customer wrote.
“It’s super quiet and always starts first time. I love it,” said another.
This security system was also popular in 2024
The third most purchased expensive item has nothing to do with lawn care and everything to do with safety.
The EufyCam 3 4-camera kit with Home Base costs $1,278 and promises crisp, clean images.
And it can even detect and reveal license plates at a distance of 10 meters.
Of 19 reviewers, 11 gave the camera system five stars.
‘I bought this kit over a month ago and I am absolutely thrilled with the image quality and I don’t have to worry about recharging it. It still indicates 100% battery. Setup was easy,’ one person said.
‘Looks well made. Solid. Easy installation, no wiring. Capture movement day and night. Clear images. The application works intuitively. No ongoing fees. I highly recommend it,” listed another.
But some people claimed that they couldn’t see further than seven meters or that the solar battery charger function didn’t work for them.
The best-selling products at Bunnings were smaller items such as wall hooks and moving boxes.
