Royal observers questioned whether the official portrait, which was taken in the Royal Reception Rooms of Christiansborg Palace, had been manipulated, claiming on social media that the “stiff and uncomfortable” photograph “looks as if they had been photographed separately and then together.”
In response to the controversy, the Danish Palace issued a statement saying: “The official gala portrait of the Royals has not been tampered with.”
