Texas has further relaxed the locking restrictions on the coronavirus, as the governor signs an order that resumes water parks, food courts in shopping centers, and adult sports competitions under certain conditions.

Governor Gregg Abbott signed the executive order on Tuesday, saying it represents an additional extension of phase II of returning to normal after the pandemic.

Effective immediately, food courts in shopping centers can resume service under sanitation and social distance guidelines, including disinfection tables after each use and placing tables at least two feet apart.

Shopping centers are also limited to 25 percent capacity.

Water parks can open from Friday, but must limit their occupancy to 25 percent of normal operating limits. However, video halls within water parks must remain closed.

Recreational adult sports programs may resume from Sunday, but games and similar competitions may not begin until June 15.

Driver training programs can also resume work immediately.

The state estimates that it has about 22,000 active cases and daily new cases have been flat or declining in recent weeks.

The state has already allowed restaurants, bars and cinemas to reopen with a 25 percent capacity.
