Britney Spears has split from criminal Paul Soliz over fears his affair with her former housekeeper and irresponsible father of nine could jeopardize her relationship with her own teenage children, sources close to her say.
The pop princess, 42, shared and then deleted an Instagram post on Sunday night declaring herself “single as f***” just two months after she was photographed looking disheveled as she left the Chateau Marmont with Soliz.
Now, sources close to the couple claim she ended their short-lived union after healing her broken relationship with Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, who are her number one priority, and because she fears Soliz may have led her “down a dark path.”
“She chose her children and their well-being over Paul,” a source exclusively told DailyMail.com. “They did not get along and in fact he did not treat her the way she deserved to be treated.”
‘He was nothing more than a disappointment and she recognises that. But she has regained contact with her children and that is the most important thing for her.

Soliz, 37 (pictured), was first linked to the Hit Me Baby singer, 42, as a cleaner and handyman on her staff, but reportedly later became her lover.

‘This has made her feel whole again and she has realized that in his absence she was looking for something or someone to fill the void, but no one can do it.’
They concluded: ‘She also saw that Paul was an irresponsible father and that discouraged her greatly. But, above all, she knew that staying with him would only lead her down a dark path. Her story speaks for itself.’
On Sunday night, the Grammy-winning singer shared a photo on Instagram account The Random Vibez that read, ‘Her attitude is wild but her heart is gold.’
She captioned the photo: “Single as f**k!!! I will never be with another man in my entire life!!!”
He later deleted the statement, simply leaving the credit to The Randon Vibez.
Soliz was initially linked to Spears as a janitor and maintenance man for her crew, but reportedly later became her lover following her split from ex-husband Sam Asghari, 30. The couple divorced in May.
Hours after the divorce was finalized, Soliz was photographed alongside Spears as she was flanked by paramedics leaving the Chateau Marmont wearing nothing but a blanket and underwear while clutching a pillow, initially sparking fears for her mental health.
But now she appears to have put maintenance aside to devote herself to rebuilding her relationship with her children, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, 46.
Spears appeared to confirm she is single on Sunday night in a since-deleted Instagram post that read: “Single as f**k!! I will never be with another man as long as I live!!”
The source claimed that reconciling with her children made her feel “whole again” and she realized she was trying to get Soliz to fill the void (pictured with her children in 2013).
“Britney has been talking and working on her relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden for months,” a source told DailyMail.com last month.
“The boys have a great love for their mother, just as she does for them. Things are back to normal and they are looking forward to their future together.”
Spears confirmed that things were back to normal on Instagram when she recently shared a photo of her brother Bryan.
“You look so elegant,” she wrote alongside the photo. “I sent it to my kids and I think they got jealous because they were like ‘that’s a filter… that’s not real.'”
Spears and Federline married in October 2004 after a whirlwind romance that saw them welcome Sean Preston in September 2005 and Jayden the following September.
She filed for divorce two months after the birth of her second child, before the process was finalized in July 2007.
She then embarked on a very public crisis, dramatically shaving her hair and being hospitalized for substance abuse.
In January 2008, Federline was granted sole legal and physical custody of their children, just weeks before Spears was placed under the controversial legal conservatorship.

During this time, when her life and finances were controlled by her father, Spears had contact with her children, whom she saw regularly.
But in 2022 it was revealed that their relationship was strained.
In August 2023, Federline and the two children moved to Hawaii, along with Federline’s wife of 10 years, Victoria Prince, and their two daughters Jordan, 12, and Payton, 9.
Spears has visited her children several times this year at their home in Hawaii, which has been one of her favorite vacation spots for several decades.
The Grammy winner has been very vocal in recent years about her strained relationship with Sean Preston and Jayden, who two years ago expressed hopes of reconciling with his mother.
Spears has never confirmed her relationship with Soliz, who was convicted of firearms possession in December 2020.
A source told DailyMail.com in September that the pair were not officially dating, claiming: ‘They had a short fling after Sam left but that was it.
‘Britney slept with him twice and at the time, she knew nothing about his criminal past. She no longer has any kind of communication with him.’
Soliz is the father of at least nine children, and last May his mother and the Los Angeles Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) pursued him for child support.

Court records obtained by DailyMail.com showed a civil case against Soliz was filed by DCSS on March 22, demanding that Soliz pay $1,167 in monthly child support plus 50 percent of the health care costs for nine-year-old Trystan Alexzander Soliz, eight-year-old Dylan Andrew Soliz, and 21-month-old Violet Pearl Soliz.
The complaint states that the children have been receiving public benefits since January 2020.
In September 2021, a Los Angeles judge determined that Soliz was the father of Trystan and Dylan, as well as Cesar Martinez-Mancilla, 17, and Nicholas Soliz, six.
