Game Freak, the most famous studio known for the Pokémon games, is partnering with Private Division in what appears to be the first project in the AAA action-adventure space.
Private Division has announced that it is working with Game Freak on Project Bloom, an “ambitious” new adventure game. Game Freak director Kota Furushima said fans can expect something completely different from the team’s previous games.
“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to create a bold new title that is so different from our previous work, Private Division was the publisher we wanted to work with on our new game. Their proven track record and global expertise gives us full confidence to create a comprehensive new adventure game that we can’t wait to share more about in the future.” .
Private Division President Michael Warsh added that the publisher is “honored” to be the first Western publisher to work with Game Freak.
Alongside the announcement, Game Freak and Private Division revealed the first artwork for the new project, which features a samurai standing in a huge forest, and indicates that the new game will feature a greater scope than previous Game Freak projects.
