The Golden Bachelorette cast includes the father of a very famous member of Bachelor Nation, who will compete against 23 other seniors for the heart of Joan Vassos.

The Golden Bachelorette cast will include at least one familiar face vying for Joan Vassos’ heart.

Fans of The Bachelor may recognize Kelsey Anderson’s dad, Mark — who went viral as “Kelsey’s Hot Dad” last year after showing up on his daughter’s hometown date — as one of 24 eligible seniors competing on the first season of The Golden Bachelorette.

He captured hearts when he told Kelsey he just wanted her to find “that feeling” he had with his mother, who passed away in 2018 after a battle with breast cancer.

After the episode aired, viewers flocked to social media to endorse him as the next Golden Bachelor or a good match for Vassos, who prematurely left Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor due to a medical issue with his daughter.

Kelsey eventually got engaged to her fiancé Joey Graziadei on the show and has already expressed her approval of watching him follow in her footsteps to find love on a reality show.

In June, the 26-year-old junior project manager joked that she was hoping her father would “go out into the world.”

“I want my dad to date someone,” she said on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. “I think my mom would really like me to.”

She continued: ‘My mother, before she died, always said, ‘I want you to find someone else. I want you to find another love.’ Even before she got sick, she always said this. She knew she would die before him.’

On Monday, ABC published a list of Vassos’ 24 suitors, whose ages range from 57 to 69.

Vassos is the first female-led lead on ABC’s new Golden Bachelor spin-off.

In May, Vassos was chosen for the first time as the first Golden Bachelorette.

Joann, a private school administrator from Rockville, Maryland, was married to her husband John for 32 years until his death in 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. They had four children together and Joan is now also a grandmother of two.

Joan’s season will air on Wednesdays this fall, beginning September 18, 2024.
