The dramatic moment a train collides with a van at a level crossing seconds after a couple jumped out of the crashed vehicle

A pickup truck driver and his passenger were lucky to escape moments before the vehicle was hit by a train at a crossing.

The car became stuck at the Herne Hill level crossing in Perth on Thursday night after colliding with another vehicle.

The couple jumped out of the truck before the train hit it.

They were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
