The man, 77, and his 41-year-old wife were arrested on Thursday morning during a raid on their home in Cherrybrook, northwest Sydney, after police launched an investigation into the alleged criminal syndicate last year.
Agents discovered the couple’s clandestine lab in an Airbnb property in Camperdown in April last year and seized 1.9 pounds of ice with an estimated street value of $ 1.9 million.
Husband, 77, and his 41-year-old wife are behind bars for allegedly orchestrating a multi-million dollar drug and weapons ring in New South Wales.
NSW police seized 14 $ 200,000 street value handguns during their raid on the couple’s home in Cherrybrook
“The 77-year-old man was the director of this particular criminal group and gave instructions and directions to others,” said Chief Inspector John Watson.
NSW police also seized 14 $ 200,000 street value handguns that the man reportedly sold in parks and malls in Sydney.
“The firearms range from antique pieces to military-grade weapons,” Watson said.
“They had total disregard for public safety and of course there were innocent bystanders in all those locations.”

Police allege that one of the locations where the guns were sold was a luxury spa in Double Bay, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, and investigators confiscated several items.
The company was to be used as a meeting place for the syndicate to exchange money and store weapons.
The man was charged with 18 firearms and drug-related charges, including unlawfully selling firearms, manufacturing drugs and knowingly leading a criminal group.
His wife was charged with 45 firearms-related crimes, including illegal sales of firearms and participation in a criminal group.
Another 45-year-old man was also arrested on Thursday and charged with 45 firearms-related crimes.
The trio will be in court on Friday.
