Nita, from the Gold Coast, posted a video showing how to efficiently fold the reusable plastic bags into ‘little triangles’ for neat storage in cupboards, kitchen drawers or car glove boxes.
In the clip, Nita folded the bag in thirds and then joined the corners to create the triangle formation. But supermarket workers claim that this tactic makes the bags difficult and frustrating to open
In the comments, a supermarket worker encouraged Nita to make sure she takes apart the folded bags before getting to the checkout.
“As a cashier, make sure you unfold them before going to the register because it takes so much time to open them,” the employee wrote.
Others agreed, saying they “hate” customers folding the bags in this compact way because it “takes more time” to open.
In the comments to the video, a supermarket worker encouraged Nita to make sure she takes the folded bags apart before going to checkout.
“I’m also a cashier and they are just so clumsy to unravel and time consuming,” commented another.
A third added: “A cashier’s nightmare. Unfold before I pack for you, so annoying.’
After reading the comments, Nita hit back and shared another video showing how easy the bags are to unfold with a quick flick.

“All the cashiers who hate this, I think you’re doing it wrong,” she captioned the second video.
Despite worker opposition, other TikTok users praised Nita for sharing her helpful insight.
‘Don’t listen to them. I’m a cashier at Woolworths and it’s easier to unfold these than rip 50 bags apart like matryoshka dolls,” one wrote.
“I do this every time I finish shopping,” said another, a third added: “I’ve been folding them wrong my whole life.”
