Fans of The Block are divided after Tom and Sarah-Jane receive ‘special treatment’ despite ignoring competition rules.

The couple were shown using power tools during a public holiday, which violates the rules of the Channel Nine renovation series.

However, they were not called up for the offense, despite Foreman Keith previously reprimanding Oz and Omar for a similar offense.

Viewers continued to waver about the “double standard,” with one writing, “Rules only apply if it makes enough drama.”

Another wrote: “As was clearly established with Keith’s conversation with O+O earlier in the season, power tools are anything that needs power, except drilling.”

“They are barred from such rules because of the special Tom & SJ clause that has been used multiple times this year by Scotty, Keith, Dan and all the judges.”

Another complained that Omar and Oz received “a lot of backlash”, while Tom and Sarah-Jane experienced no repercussions.

“Why aren’t Tom and Sarah-Jane disqualified?” asked a fan.

It comes after Sarah-Jane was caught in an embarrassing moment when Scott Cam confronted her about her suspicious spending.

She had previously called for a site-wide financial audit after Omar and Oz were able to get their hands on a baby grand piano at an incredible discount.

However, they were not called for the rule violation, despite Foreman Keith previously reprimanded Oz and Omar (pictured) for a similar violation

Scott, 59, complied with her request for an audit and found half way through that Sarah-Jane had misused her Channel Nine credit card to buy cigarettes.

As Scott and co-host Shelley Craft took their walk through the houses, they stopped at House 1 to chat about what he’d found in the audit that Sarah-Jane and Tom requested.

All teams agreed to a financial inspection of the entire site, and to everyone’s surprise, Omar and Oz escaped unharmed.

In an ironic twist, Tom and Sarah-Jane were the only team to break free.

The investigation found that Sarah-Jane, 30, had used her credit card to purchase cigarettes.

The team’s credit cards may only be used to purchase supplies, furniture, and other items essential to their builds.

She later agreed to refund the money, and it’s believed the network is cracking down on credit card use for future seasons.

Tom and Sarah-Jane (pictured) of House 1 had called up for the audit last week after watching Omar and Oz race through the game. The plan backfired when it turned out that Sarah-Jane had used her Channel Nine credit card to buy cigarettes
