A two-bedroom house in one of Australia’s cheapest cities is selling for just $110,000.

The house in Pentland, about 250 kilometers south-west of Townsville in Queensland, sits on a huge 1,012m² section.

The house inside has air conditioning, stone walls and a 1,000-gallon rainwater tank, but there is no stove in the kitchen.

The entire house is fully tiled and screened, and the utility room also includes a separate shower and toilet.

Buying a house may seem like a far-fetched dream to some, but properties in one of Australia’s cheapest cities are now selling for just $110k.

A two-bedroom house in Pentland, about 250 kilometers southwest of Townsville, is currently one of the most affordable places in Queensland.

Real estate agent Andrew Jensen he told ABC The house is “very livable”, but he admits that “it is not the best” in the city.

Mr. Jensen said it is an older house, but he thinks the price is quite reasonable.

The property features abundant citrus and mango trees, vines and a macadamia tree with an irrigation system already installed, Jenson said.

It also has a large garage and a lockable shed.

Home to just 250 people, Pentland has amenities including a local shop, school, pub, swimming pool and caravan pub.

The town was established in the mid-1850s, becoming a vital railway and communications junction during this period.

It is located in the Charters Tower region, and mining, especially gold mining, remains a key sector, complemented by a strong agricultural industry, mainly focused on beef cattle production.

Charters Towers mayor Frank Beveridge said the $110,000 Pentland property was a “bargain”.

A four-bedroom house situated on a 2,023 m² lot is selling for the “bargain price” of $160,000.

Pentland is about 250 kilometers southwest of Townsville, Queensland.

‘It’s a pretty slow lifestyle (in Pentland). It’s little stressful. And there’s nothing wrong with that,’ he stated.

According to the latest data from CoreLogic, the median home price is almost $779,270 in Brisbane and $616,000 in regional Queensland, making the $110,000 property in Pentland significantly more affordable by comparison.

It is not the only cheap property available for sale in the city.

A four-bedroom house situated on a 2,023 m² lot is selling for the “bargain price” of $160,000.

“This house is perfect for any time of year, with terraces everywhere, ensuring you will always have a place in the sun or shade,” says Jenson.
