A prominent Texas attorney and his female colleague have been arrested for working out an elaborate plot to murder her ex-husband.
Lawyers Seth Andrew Sutton, 45, and Chelsea Tijerina, 33, were each charged with plotting to commit a first-degree murder on Friday in Waco.
Judge affidavits claim that Sutton paid an undercover Waco police officer to buy a ‘clean’ gun to murder Tijerina’s ex-husband, Marcus Beaudin, a fellow lawyer accused of this earlier this year. molesting a child.
Sutton and Tijerina are said to have given the officer detailed instructions on how to commit the murder.

Police say Sutton first met the undercover cop on May 14 and agreed to pay him $ 300 to buy a gun.
Sutton told the officer that he would help him leave the city after committing the murder.
After that initial meeting, police brought in the Texas Rangers to assist in the investigation.
Sutton and Tijerina met again on May 21 with the undercover agent to schedule the hit, which was to take place at Beaudin’s home.
“Chelsea Tijerina (Beaudin) and Sutton provided a timeline for the murder and established alibis for Chelsea Tijerina (Beaudin) and Sutton,” the affidavit said.
“On May 22, Sutton (with the undercover agent) met an issued (the officer) $ 300 to buy a firearm to kill Marcus Beaudin.”

Sutton and Tijerina were arrested the same day and are now being held on a $ 1 million bond each in McLennan County prison.
The motive for the murder was not disclosed.
Tijerina and Beaudin married in November 2016 and welcomed a daughter in 2018. It is unclear when they split up.
Sutton is also married, and his wife has not responded to requests for comment on his arrest.
Beaudin, 37, was arrested in February after being charged with harassing a 10-year-old female relative. He is seen in his mugshot
Beuadin, 37, had been arrested by police in neighboring Woodway in February on charges of indecency with a child.
He was charged with sexually touching a 10-year-old female relative in December, but has not been formally charged by a grand jury.
Beaudin’s lawyer Josh Tetens says his client denies the allegations.
Sutton is known among legal circles in Waco.
In 2017, he launched an offer to relieve McLennan County’s incumbent prosecutor, but quit for the Democratic primary.
He successfully defended clients in several high-profile cases, including the 2015 Waco biker shooting that left nine men dead and 20 injured.
Tijerina is less known in the community, but works at Sutton.
