Anna explained in her heartbreaking post that the thieves took everything, ‘every last penny.’
‘The cyclist approached me from behind, so I didn’t notice and didn’t notice. The phone was unlocked so the guy had access to everything.
‘He was able to change my Apple ID immediately, so I couldn’t track the phone or access my information on any other device.
“I know it’s easy to replace a cell phone, but my whole life is there: Apple Pay, personal information, pictures, work, etc.
‘By the time I managed to contact a bank to cancel my cards and Apple Pay, it was too late.
‘I discovered that all the accounts had been cleared. Not only had they stolen my phone, they had also spent thousands of pounds, every last penny, my savings and credit cards were maxed out. Leaving me with absolutely NOTHING.’
He added: “It was much easier for them that my phone was unlocked when they approached me, but it couldn’t have been helped.”
‘I always thought I was safe with Apple Pay because of passwords, Face ID and all the security these devices have, but it’s still not enough. They also had access to PayPal credit etc.’
She issued a warning to others and continued: ‘This week has been very stressful and scary for me and I just wanted everyone to be aware of how easily and often this happens.
‘It only takes a fraction of a second. The amount of people I’ve seen doing exactly the same thing as me this week, walking down the street with their cell phone in their hand, has put things into perspective for me.
