She shared a photo of her and her son along with the caption, “My college application essay that made my mom cry.”
In the essay, Madeleine revealed that she knew she wanted to be a cardiothoracic surgeon in eighth grade.
However, things changed when she developed trichotillomania at age 10 and became a mother at 14.
Soon, Madeleine’s identity diminished and she was known as “teen mother” by her peers.
In the essay, Madeleine noted that although strangers have given her numerous nicknames over the years, such as “teen mother,” “dropout,” and “trichotillomania,” the only thing that has remained constant is her career aspirations.
‘My name is Madeleine, but one day it will be Dr. Lambert. The world has given me many labels, but this one, this title, I will earn it and HSC is the place where I will make it happen,” the 21-year-old said at the end of her essay.

She admitted that motherhood was “challenging” but that she was “confident” as a mother.
