A LaLiga assistant referee was left with a bloody face after colliding with a camera at the foot of the field during Sunday’s match between Real Betis and Athletic Bilbao.
Referee Guadalupe Porras returned to her position on the touchline after confirming Chimy Ávila’s initial goal in the 13th minute for Betis.
Television coverage initially did not pick up what had happened as Betis medical staff rushed to tend to Porras, helping her onto a stretcher before transferring her to an ambulance.
But, according to Relevo, he collided with a DAZN 4K camera operator who was filming close-ups of the goal celebrations.
Porras had to be replaced on the bench by fourth official Holgueras Castellanos after a long delay in play.

The incident occurred shortly after Real Betis took the lead in the 13th minute of Sunday’s match.

The Benito Villamarín crowd applauded Porras off the field but doubts arose about the proximity of the camera to the action.
Former LaLiga referee Eduardo Iturralde González told Cadena SER: ‘Message to Javier Tebas (LaLiga president) – The camera goes where it should not go.
“Please let them work, the assistant referee is as professional as a player.”
Betis doubled their lead when Bilbao’s Yuri Berchiche scored an own goal in the 38th minute.
Gorka Guruzeta halved the deficit during considerable first-half stoppage time, but Johnny Cardoso secured the points for Betis, who sit sixth in the table.
