Manchester United winger Antony was left baffled after being told to play left-back towards the end of the 1-0 defeat against Arsenal.

Erik ten Hag’s men suffered their 14th defeat in a dismal campaign that dented their hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

Antony was left on the bench in favor of Amad Diallo, who impressed in his first Premier League start for the club.

He finally replaced the Ivorian in the 70th minute as United sought an equalizer against the Gunners.

The Brazilian failed to make an impact and was then told to play at left back after Aaron Wan-Bissaka came off with three minutes left on the clock.

The former Ajax star walked slowly down the pitch and looked around in confusion before standing next to Gabriel Jesus, who was playing on the Arsenal wing.

Antony’s latest poor performance came after former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher criticized him following United’s 4-0 defeat against Crystal Palace on Monday night.

The Sky Sports pundit was irritated by images of the winger chatting with teammates Mason Mount and Andre Onana after the final whistle.
