Sylvia Jeffreys threw the covers on Friday – for a picnic, at least.

The Today Extra host took advantage of Sydney’s relaxed lockdown restrictions and headed out for alfresco dining.

She was accompanied but her husband Peter Stefanovic and sons Henry, five months, and Oscar, 19 months.

Sylvia shared a photo of the trio cuddling on a picnic blanket as they enjoyed the outdoors.

Later, she met some friends and enjoyed an outdoor picnic despite a rain shower.

“We’re having a picnic today, rain, hail or shine,” read one of her Instagram Stores showing the women huddled under an umbrella.

The TV star also showed off her antipasto spread, admitting she’d missed her friends during the lockdown.

Up to five people who have had both doses of Covid-19 vaccine, from up to two households, will be allowed to gather outside from September 13.

Double-jabbed Sydneysiders have been given the so-called ‘freedom picnics’ and many have taken advantage of this.

Sylvia was incapacitated for work for six months after the birth of her second child.

She was back in front of the camera when she returned to co-host Today Extra on Monday.

“I took a long shower and had a hot coffee so it’s basically my birthday,” the 35-year-old joked after being welcomed by co-host David Campbell.

She also joked that she felt “free as a bird” after her six-month maternity leave with sons Henry, five months, and Oscar, 19 months.
