The 54-year-old supermodel admitted her focus changed after marrying Matthew Vaughn and having their three children, Casper, now 21, Clementine, 19, and Cosima, 14.

She became less “competitive” and, although she knows she could still get more jobs if she wanted, she is happy with the balance she has achieved in her life.

She recently said HELLO from Great Britain! magazine: ‘When I was 20 years old and traveling around the world, I focused on my career: work hard, be competitive and get to the top.

“That changed when I had children and now I feel lucky to have such a wonderful family.

‘I am proud of my children, they have their feet on the ground and their well-being is my and my husband’s priority.

“I could handle many more runways, photo shoots and other projects,” she said.

“But maintaining a balance that allows me to spend quality time with my family and be there when they need me is much more important to me than running a big new campaign.”

Claudia was one of the original supermodels alongside Cindy Crawford, Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington.

Although she appreciates that her position in the fashion industry was “revolutionary,” it was only in looking back that she realized how special that moment was.

She said: ‘The 1990s saw the rise of the supermodel, but also the rise of a culture of style and fearless creativity.

‘A wave of new young talent fundamentally changed the way we looked at fashion and design.

‘Previously, models had been categorized as catwalk, commercial or editorial, but as supermodels, we crossed those boundaries and became household names representing self-made success.

‘We were at the forefront of everything and everything we wanted, we made it happen, which was revolutionary for the industry.

‘I barely took a day off, constantly traveling the world, but it was also a lot of fun.

“It wasn’t until I got married and then got pregnant, so I went at a slower pace, that I was able to really look back and appreciate how special the 1990s were, unlike any other decade.”

This comes after the cover girl said she “parties” all day at Christmas.

She admitted that the festive period is a “time of indulgence” so she is happy to enjoy all her favorite foods over the festive period.

Speaking before Christmas, he told British show HELLO! magazine: ‘We’re always home in Suffolk for Christmas. We adopted German traditions such as Saint Martin and Saint Nicholas. When the children were little, Saint Nicholas used to visit them in person, reading his book to see if they had been good enough to deserve a gift.

‘Then, on December 25, the children took out their shoes in the evening, hoping they were full of Christmas sweets, clementines and nuts! Now that mine are grown, I continue the tradition, mainly to enjoy special German Christmas sweets that you can’t find in England…

‘Christmas is a time of indulgence for us, with a feast lasting from breakfast to late night snacks. On Christmas Eve, we usually enjoy crispy goose with sauce, potato dumplings, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower cheese, and desserts like tiramisu, glazed marble cake, and Tarte Tatin.

“On the 25th, it’s turkey and ham with all the trimmings, followed by desserts like bread and butter pudding or freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.”

The blonde beauty still uses her childhood Christmas decorations on her tree.

She said: ‘I also decorate the tree with carved wooden ornaments from my childhood. ‘I grew up with real candles, lit on the Christmas tree!’

During the holiday season, Claudia and Matthew like to host various parties for their friends and family.

She said: ‘I love hosting parties and the way it brings friends together. Most years we host a Christmas cocktail party as well as an annual New Year’s Eve party for all of our family and close friends. It always has a theme and is a great way to end the year; everyone in their costumes, all ages joining together.

‘Last year our theme was Studio 54, but my favorite is Oktoberfest. It’s so funny to see all my non-German friends wearing Lederhosen and Dirndls. I wish I could use a zip line every day!’
