Zoo animals across the United States have weighed in on Super Bowl predictions as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers prepare to take the field on Sunday.

Several zoos placed two boxes corresponding to both teams in enclosures and waited to see which of them the animals were in. After the votes were counted, the majority of the animals favored the Chiefs to win their second consecutive title in Las Vegas.

At the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, New York, the Chiefs were chosen for two baby elephants. Meanwhile, tiger cubs Coba and Zuzaan defaced the 49ers’ block after pushing both boxes around their enclosure.

At the Maryland Zoo, Mediterranean miniature donkeys Harry and Lloyd were split between the two teams.

Lulu, a red panda at the Akron Zoo in Ohio, also chose Kansas City to complete the predictions.

The animals’ predictions contradict those of bettors who have the 49ers as favorites to win.

San Francisco finished its season with a 12-5 record atop the NFC. They also picked up wins over the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions in the playoffs to book their spot in the Super Bowl.

On the other hand, the Chiefs finished with an 11-6 record atop the AFC East. The defending champions are on a five-game winning streak, including wins over the Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens in the postseason.

The Chiefs have appeared in four of the last five Super Bowls and won two of those title games. A win on Sunday would make them the first repeat champions since the New England Patriots in 2003 and 2004.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are tied with the Dallas Cowboys for the second-most Super Bowl titles with five. The renewed team will try to win its first title since 1994.

The Chiefs and 49ers will kick off at 6:30 pm PT as they battle for the Lombardi Trophy at Allegiant Stadium.
