Natalie Barr left upset by Matt Shirvington's disturbing live shower confession

Natalie Barr was left upset by Matt Shirvington’s disturbing shower confession during Tuesday’s Sunrise show.

The former athlete, 45, admitted to being “guilty” of urinating in the shower “every day.”

“You’re all liars if you’ve never peed in the shower,” he told his co-hosts Barr, Edwina Bartholomew and Mark Beretta.

‘Warm shower water is my kryptonite. “I could pee 100 times before I get in the shower and it happens again.”

Shirvo’s fellow hosts were shocked by the on-air revelation and began asking several intimate questions about her bathroom habits.

‘In your own shower, is that normal? In your own shower? Actually?’ Barr asked horrified.

‘Enough! I peed in the shower. I admit it. “I don’t need to go over the details of how often I do it,” Shrivo responded.

Bartholomew also admitted to urinating in the shower, before asking his colleagues in the studio to raise their hands if they did too.

The issue arose after studies showed that urinating in the shower can be bad for women.

An American obstetrician recently went viral by revealing that the act could be detrimental to a woman’s gynecological health.

“Urinating standing up could damage your pelvic floor muscles if you build a mental association with running water, preventing you from having to run to the bathroom more often,” Bartholomew said.

Meanwhile, in 2022, urogynecologist Dr. Teresa Irwin took to TikTok to share her reflections on the topic.

He said it’s bad for both men and women, explaining that while it empties the bladder correctly while standing, it also trains the brain to release urine every time you hear water running.

During Tuesday morning’s Sunrise show, the 45-year-old admitted he was “guilty” of urinating in the shower “every day.”

“You don’t want to do it all the time because what happens is every time you hear the sound of water your bladder will want to pee, because it’s used to hearing the sound of water in the shower,” he explained. .

“So every time you wash your hands or dishes, your bladder salivates, so to speak, because it wants to go pee.”

Dr. Alicia Jeffrey-Thomas, a Boston-based pelvic floor therapist, agreed with Dr. Irwin and detailed the dangerous side effects that can arise from urinating while standing under running water.

“If you urinate while water is running, you are creating an association in your brain between the sound of water running and having to urinate,” he told his 468,000 followers on TikTok in 2021.

Without a strong pelvic floor, this “could lead to some leakage issues when you hear water running out of the shower,” he added.

Not to mention that people who were born with female anatomy “were not designed to urinate standing up.”
