Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being pushed into retirement, says royal editor

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have misjudged the challenges of living the American dream, according to royal historian Hugo Vickers. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped away from royal duties to forge a new life in America, reportedly struggled to adapt to the competitive and high-energy world of Hollywood, leading to growing tensions behind the scenes.

Vickers said the sun“I think a certain number of cracks have always developed.” He noted that while the couple seemed to enjoy their new life at first, they may not have fully understood the complexities of navigating such a competitive environment. “Obviously, they had a pretty good time at first,” Vickers said. “But the problem is that it’s this high-energy, competitive world that they exist in now that is very, very difficult to address.”

Vickers suggested that while Meghan may have had some experience with the fast-paced nature of Hollywood, Prince Harry likely had little understanding of what the American entertainment industry actually entails. “I’m sure she’s had some experience with this. “I’m not sure how much experience Prince Harry had with that,” he added.

The historian’s comments come in the wake of reports suggesting Meghan Markle’s demanding nature left staff feeling “terrified” around her. Vickers commented on this dynamic, noting that while partners can be generous when things are going well, the pressure of stressful situations can reveal a different side.

“I’m sure it’s one of those situations where, probably, when things are going well they’re very generous… remembering birthdays, sending little gifts and all that kind of stuff,” Vickers explained. “But the moment things get stressful, that’s when you see the true side.”

Vickers also expressed concern about Meghan’s alleged treatment of her staff, which has been the subject of controversy in the past. “I’m afraid I prefer to think she’s difficult,” he admitted. “And it’s not a good sign if you can’t be good to your staff; you know you’re in trouble.”

These insights add to ongoing public speculation about the couple’s transition to life in the US and the challenges they have faced in establishing their brand and projects. While Harry and Meghan have had some success, including their deal with Netflix and various charitable initiatives, it appears that the pressures of Hollywood have presented unexpected obstacles for the couple.

As they continue to balance their public image, media projects and personal lives, it remains to be seen how the duke and duchess will adapt to the complexities of Hollywood and whether they can overcome the cracks that experts like Vickers have pointed out.
