Sofia Vergara wore sneakers while appearing as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday after recently undergoing knee surgery.
“I’m sorry I came to your show in sneakers,” Sofia, 51, apologized to Jimmy, 56.
‘Did you know? Alright. I don’t really care,” Jimmy said.
“Yeah, I don’t even want to look down,” Sofia joked.
He noted that tennis shoes are ‘only for sporting activities and ‘tourist activities’.

“I don’t even know how to say it… I had a very big operation, an operation that lasted eight hours,” Sofia explained.
“Eight hours, really?” asked Jimmy, who recently revealed that his seven-year-old son Bily underwent another open heart operation.
‘Yes, it was big, big. I mean, I shouldn’t be here. But I wouldn’t miss being with you,’ Sofia said.
Jimmy thanked him for coming and asked him if it hurt.
‘I’m fine. I’ve been better. I mean, I’m still, you know, working and doing things. But I can’t wear high heels and that’s… depressing for me,” Sofia said.
‘Don’t fancy a little break from high heels, huh? Do you want high heels most of the time?’ Jimmy asked.
‘Yes, I’m Latino. I guess that’s why I have big problems with my knees,” Sofia said.
Sofia also shared the mundane reason why she needed knee surgery.

Sofia said she didn’t let her knee surgery stop her from appearing on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter’s Drama Queens.
Sofia was on the ABC talk show to promote her new cooking game show Celebrity Family Food Battle hosted by her son Manolo.
‘I mean something sexy, like I’m in a fight or doing my own stunts. But I think it’s just wear and tear and old age, I don’t know. Just life,” she said.
Sofía said her son Manolo and a friend from Colombia helped take care of her.
Jimmy noted that Sofia appears on the latest cover of The Hollywood Reporter titled ‘Drama Queens’ along with Nicole Kidman, Jodie Foster, Brie Larson and Naomi Watts.
‘You know what, that was actually less than two weeks after the operation. And my team told me, “You know what we’re going to cancel because we think you’re not in good shape, you don’t look good,” Sofia said.
‘Did they say that?’ Jimmy asked.
‘Yes, I couldn’t even move. I had to use a walker to walk at that point. It was about 10 days after the operation. And I say, “I’m not going to miss that magazine cover with Jennifer Aniston, with Nicole Kidman, with Jodie Foster.” Even if I have gangrene,’ said Sofía.
Sofia said that she had a “discomfort face” and that her leg was resting on a high cushion.
She also joked that she was told to come “business casual” and noted that her outfit was much sexier than the others.
‘To me, that’s a business. Look at them all. It seems like they are going to pray,” said Sofía.
