Keep calm and carrot: Health-conscious chain Smoothie King has launched a special menu for those taking GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, and the options are interesting.

The brand, which offers a host of different flavors and blends to help you feel energized or “get fit,” has unveiled its ‘LPG-1 Support’ line.

While some of their shakes on the regular menu can total more than 800 calories, these new offerings have a much lower calorie count and incorporate different protein blends.

For example, customers can get what’s called the ‘Slim ‘N Trim GLP-1 Mango Greens’ smoothie, which contains mangoes, Greek yogurt, Califia Farms almond milk, Slim N Trim blend, organic kale, ginger and spinach.

Or you can choose from the ‘Power Meal Slim GLP-1’, which comes in three different flavor varieties (strawberry, vanilla and chocolate) and combines banana, Califia Farms almond milk and Power Slim Protein.

Ozempic contains a compound called semaglutide, which 'mimics the hormone GLP-1,' according to UCLA Health, a hormone that can work with your brain to suppress appetite and make you feel fuller faster.

In recent years, GLP-1 medications, which have historically been used to treat type 2 diabetes, have become extremely popular as a weight loss aid after they were approved by the FDA.

When taken in high doses, combined with diet and exercise, it can help people lose weight.

In Hollywood, it has taken off particularly well, and celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Sharon Osbourne and Rebel Wilson have admitted to taking a weight-loss drug.

And interestingly, Smoothie King isn’t the first major food brand that has worked to appeal to customers taking the drug.

In May, it was announced that Nestlé would launch a range of $5 pizzas, pasta bowls and sandwiches made for people who use drugs such as Wegovy or Ozempic.

The world’s largest food company, which sells DiGiorno pizza and Stouffer’s meals to major grocery stores, launched the 12 meals under the Vital Pursuit brand.

The meals are now available nationwide at Walmart, Target and Kroger, and consist of frozen dishes like Cauliflower Crust Pepperoni Pizza and Southwest Beef Taco.

And, in Los Angeles, some restaurants have even reduced traditional portion sizes and instead offered special ‘Ozempic plates’ after the popular weight-loss drug changed the way people eat.

A talent agent who represents several well-known names told DailyMail.com in July 2023 that “all the restaurants in Beverly Hills now offer smaller portions because everyone is on Ozempic and can’t finish big steaks and pasta dishes anymore.”

‘It’s not something they advertise because no one admits they’re taking Ozempic, but everyone is doing it and restaurants are adapting and offering smaller plates, half portions or plates to share.

‘We are seeing a lot of expensive things like caviar and oysters return to the menu. People can’t eat a lot because Ozempic makes them feel full faster, so if they’re going to eat they want it to be a luxury experience.’
