A car engulfed in flames next to the Seattle Mariners’ T-Mobile Park caused a fog of smoke to cover the stadium Saturday night.
Their game against the Chicago Cubs was in the bottom of the fifth inning when television cameras cut to the game and saw a vehicle on fire on a freeway near the stadium.
Smoke from the fire, north of the stadium, was rising toward the stadium and became extremely visible on the broadcast.
Minutes later, television cameras returned to the highway and showed that first responders were already on the scene trying to put out the fire.
They finally managed to put out the flames, but the fog hung over the stadium for a while longer.
