Sir Rod Stewart has been forced to cancel two more shows after suffering yet another health scare.
In a statement shared on his Instagram on Friday night, the 79-year-old rocker informed his fans that he would miss a planned concert that night and another on Saturday after testing positive for Covid-19.
The news comes days after Rod was forced to cancel his historic 200th show in Las Vegas on Wednesday due to suffering from strep throat.
The Maggie May singer was scheduled to perform at Nevada’s Stateline on Friday, followed by a show at Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California; both shows have been postponed.
The statement confirmed that the shows have been moved to later this month, giving Rod time to recover from his illness.

The full statement reads: ‘We regret to announce that Rod Stewart’s concert tonight in Stateline, NV and his August 10th show in Lincoln, CA have been postponed, while the singer recovers from a summer strain of Covid-19.
‘The Lincoln, CA show at Thunder Valley Casino will now be on August 18th and their concert at Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys in Stateline, NV will now be on August 20th. Ticket holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows.’
Fans of the rocker were quick to comment to react to the news, with many wishing the musician a speedy recovery.
However, some expressed disappointment at the last-minute cancellation, stating that they had already travelled to attend the concert.
The news comes after Rod was forced to cancel his 200th residency celebration show in Las Vegas due to strep throat, with the concert at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace being cancelled just hours earlier.
Strep throat is a bacterial infection that can cause a sore, itchy throat.

The London-born singer debuted his show, titled Rod Stewart: The Hits, at the classic venue in 2011.
Although Rod will be leaving Sin City in 2025, where he was selling out 90% of the venue each night, it’s possible he’ll be back on stage sooner rather than later.

This comes after Rod revealed he is “not afraid” of dying before his 80th birthday, adding that he aims to stay another 15 years but also acknowledged that his “days are numbered”.

He said The sun‘I’m aware that my days are numbered, but I’m not afraid. We all have to die at some point, so we’re all in the same boat. I’m going to enjoy these last years as much as I can. I say few, probably another 15. I can do that easily, my friend, easily.’
He admitted: “I’m not like I was in the 70s and 80s, I can’t stay up all night, get drunk and go crazy and still have a voice like that. Nowadays I have to protect my voice before and after every show.”
But Rod insisted: “No, you think I only have water in my rider? You’re talking to Rod Stewart, mate. We go crazy after every show. There’s 13 of us, six women, really cool musicians and I make them drink. We love it.”
Rod, who has had prostate and thyroid cancer, said: “I’m more health conscious now than I used to be. You should be when you start getting older. It’s very important. I’m a bit of a hypochondriac. I think men in particular should take advantage of all the wonderful medical science that’s out there.”
Despite this, he revealed that he does not take any type of medication except for the occasional anti-inflammatory if his knee gives him problems.

Rod said he works out three to four times a day and that his personal trainer, with whom he has worked for more than three decades, helps him stay on track.
