Simon, who formed Liam’s famous band One Direction, decided at the last minute to cancel the auditions in Blackpool when he discovered the shocking news.

The Applause Store, which organizes tickets for the shoot, announced the news in a statement: ‘Due to the tragic death of Liam Payne, BGT has decided to postpone today’s auditions in Blackpool. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.’

Simon, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and KSI were due to continue filming for BGT after auditions began on Tuesday.
