A 28-year-old Florida mother has been arrested after she allegedly intervened in a fight between two students and attacked one of them at a bus stop.
Taityana D. Duffy, a tutor for one of the students at the bus stop, allegedly “instigated, heckled and intervened” in a fight between two students and “hit a minor during the incident,” according to officials.
The Haines City Police Department charged Duffy with assault and contributing to the delinquency of a dependent and the unnamed juvenile was also charged with assault.
Footage from the scene shows one minor pushing another as several people walk toward them at the bus stop, including adults.

A young woman is then seen repeatedly hitting another woman’s head while a woman involved is pulled away in the middle.
The woman soon breaks free and begins throwing punches at a student who was lying on the ground.
The initial investigation indicates that a verbal confrontation had occurred between the students and that it quickly led to physical violence, in which one youth repeatedly hit another.
At that point, Duffy allegedly jumped up and began punching a juvenile.

Police Chief Greg Goreck saying in a statement following his arrest: ‘An adult’s involvement in encouraging and participating in a teenage fight at a bus stop is unacceptable and deeply concerning.
‘This behavior not only escalates the violence but also violates our community’s expectations of the responsibility of adults to help protect our children.
“Our department is taking this matter seriously and will act to prevent incidents of this type in the future.”
A court date has not yet been set for Duffy or the minor.
