Shocking moment a monkey kidnaps a DOG and jumps across rooftops with the terrified animal in his arms

  • Parkota footage in India shows small black and white dog being led away
  • The monkey jumped from the roof onto the balcony and then out of sight while holding the dog.

Shocking images captured the moment a monkey kidnapped a dog.

The small black and white furry dog was grabbed by a monkey twice its size at Parkota in Jaipur, India on Saturday, March 18.

Video footage shot by a passerby shows people standing on the road watching the monkey crawl on the roof of a red house with the helpless dog in its arms.

The dog was flapping its wings as the monkey left it on the roof for a second, only to grab it again and run off with its four-legged prey in its arms.

The thief monkey jumped from the roof onto an adjacent balcony and from there onto another building as onlookers laughed in the background. Once the monkey and dog are out of sight, the footage cuts out.

It’s unclear what happened to the kidnapped dog afterward.

The monkey kidnapper is just one of many “threats” plaguing the city, locals said.

It’s not the only monkey to have caused chaos in India, as just a few weeks ago, a 70-year-old woman died after being attacked by a herd of rampaging monkeys and slipped and hit her head on the ground while she was trying to escape from them.

In 2021, the mother of eight-day-old twins claimed her babies had been taken away by ferocious monkeys, one of the girls had died and the other had been rescued.

In 2020, a mother and four of her children were crushed to death at their home in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, after a herd of monkeys tore down a wall.

All five victims died from falling masonry after the monkeys “violently shook” the wall while the family slept in the courtyard.

In 2019, a 50-year-old man in Sambhal died after falling from a terrace at his home when he was attacked by monkeys.

Reports at the time said it was the sixth monkey-related death in Sambhal during 2019 alone.

Just a few months earlier, a one and a half month old baby was killed by a monkey that apparently jumped into his crib to steal his bottle.

Also in the same year, a monkey killed a 60-year-old man and injured nine others after rampaging through a village in central India.

In 2018, a 58-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and died after a monkey attacked her outside her home in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
