Shark Tank's Kevin O'Leary gave a big warning to Democrats

Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary warned Democrats they may have made a “huge mistake” by awarding the nomination to Vice President Kamala Harris.

Speaking to Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy on Saturday, O’Leary argued that Democrats may be getting ahead of themselves.

The financial guru said there was a good chance they now had a second version of Hillary Clinton on their hands after “assuming she (Kamala) would win.”

He told the outlet: ‘It’s 50-50, he might win or he might lose. This whole party, the Democratic Party, is going to re-examine what happened here because they did the same thing to Hillary Clinton.

“She was supposed to win, she was anointed, she lost. Harris is supposed to be the winner by atonement.”

He continued: “If he loses, the party will never do this to itself again because they missed the opportunity to conduct a process and absorb another week of airtime, and they didn’t do it.”

O’Leary then referenced California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who seemingly mocked Harris’ selection process as a candidate.

Speaking on Pod Save America, Newsom was asked about the “switch” from Biden to Harris, and sarcastically repeated points Democrats have made about it.

“We have gone through a very open process, a very inclusive process,” he said, changing the tone of his voice to the delight of the hosts.

Newsom continued: “It was a bottom-up process, I don’t know if you knew that. That’s what I’ve been told to say.”

O’Leary said what Newsom had joked about was one of the few points on which he and the governor agreed.

He continued: ‘I’m not saying she’s going to lose, but I would never have let that happen if I was selling a business.

“I tell my managers to never bring me just one offer, to bring me a process, to show me that there is no other offer that interests me and then I will make a decision on whether I am going to sell. I was surprised that they didn’t do that here.”

Harris won the backing of several high-profile Democrats after Biden announced his surprise decision to withdraw from the election.

Other candidates had apparently been proposed by party members, including Newsom and Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro.

Despite this, none of the supposed front-runners other than Harris gained any real traction, and Biden’s endorsement of her prompted others in the party to follow suit.

On Thursday night, Harris officially accepted the Democratic presidential nomination after a week of rallying the party faithful in Chicago.
