Scott Morrison said he hopes

Scott Morrison said he hopes to “be a father again” to his two daughters, Abbey and Lily, after losing the election.

He had previously joked with the 2GB host about making some extra money through Uber now that he’s been ousted from the top job.

“I was reading an Uber ad and telling people how you can make a little extra money on top of your job and you sent a message saying maybe that’s something for me,” Fordham said.

“I said, ‘What time do they pick you up?'” Mr. Morrison responded.

The former prime minister also revealed that he had received some surprising phone calls from other first and former state premiers across the country after the election defeat.

“It was lovely to hear from former (South Australian) Premier Steve Marshall, Dom (Perrottet) here in New South Wales, I spoke to Gladys (Berejiklian) the other night and Jeremy (Rockliff) there in Tassie,” he said .

‘I had a lovely message from Dan (Andrews) and had a good chat with Mark McGowan.

“We all worked together for a while as government leaders and it was very difficult… I can assure you we were all trying to do the best we could to try to get Australia through safely.”

Morrison also said he called Albanese and “wished him well” after the election.

Earlier this year it was claimed Berejiklian, the former New South Wales premier, described Morrison as a “horrible, horrible person” who was not trustworthy in leaked text messages.

He later said in a statement that he “did not remember” the text messages.

WA Premier Mark McGowan had regularly argued with Morrison over WA’s hard border with the eastern states for most of the two years of the pandemic.

For months the border was closed to all other Australian states and territories and Mr Morrison’s protests only hardened his resolve.

The former prime minister even called WA residents “cave people” for hiding behind the border wall in pursuit of a “zero Covid” policy.

Morrison stressed he had “no plans” to leave federal politics and hoped to return to his role as a Cook member.

He also said he would give his full support to the next Liberal leader, believed to be Peter Dutton.

“You accept the outcome and move on and are grateful for the opportunity you’ve had to serve the country,” he said.
