Police have been called to a high school to investigate some boys who created a list ranking their female classmates based on their appearance.
The Year 9 boys at McClelland College in Frankston, in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, created and circulated the list on 10 May.
The list is understood to have graded female students attending the secondary school on their appearance, leaving some deeply upset. according to a report in the Herald of the sun.

Victoria Police officers have been called in to investigate, although such actions are not against any public law.
“Police have contacted the school to assess the information but at this stage no crime has been detected,” a spokeswoman told Daily Mail Australia.
“There have been no formal complaints to the police.”
Laura Spence, acting principal at McClelland College, said support has been provided to upset students.
“The safety and well-being of our students is a top priority for us and we support students affected by this behavior,” he said.
“I am very grateful to the students who immediately informed me about the matter.”
Ms. Spence said disciplinary action has been taken against the students who created the list and additional action will be considered as the school learns more information.
A Victorian Department of Education spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia it is committed to ensuring students engage in respectful relationships and has measures in place to facilitate this commitment.
“Misogynistic and disrespectful behavior is totally unacceptable in any Victorian school, and the school has rightly taken swift action,” the spokesperson said.
‘More than 1,950 Victorian government, Catholic and independent schools are signed up to the Respectful Relationships initiative, supporting them to embed respect and gender equality throughout their school community and eradicate these vile attitudes towards women.
“We all have a responsibility to teach respect to students and will continue to invest in programs that promote gender equality to ingrain those attitudes.”

According to its website, McClelland College is committed to “providing a safe, child-friendly environment where students are safe and feel safe.”
The latest school incident comes after four boys from Yarra Valley Grammar in Ringwood, in Melbourne’s east, were suspended after they created a spreadsheet that also ranked their female classmates based on their appearance.
The list discovered by the school on May 1 included photographs of female students and ranked them from best to worst.
118 former students signed a petition demanding that the boys who created the spreadsheet be expelled from the school. Two of the students involved were later expelled.
Yarra Valley Grammar principal Dr Mark Merry said the behavior was intolerable.
‘As a parent, I find it absolutely scandalous, disgraceful and offensive. As a director, I need to make some decisions. [about] what we do about it,” said Dr. Merry.
The matter was reported to the police.
Interestingly, Facebook began when Mark Zuckerberg created a website at Harvard University that invited people to rate the attractiveness of students.
He narrowly escaped expulsion, but expanded the concept and created Facebook and the Meta group, which now has $230 billion in assets.
