The Prince and Princess of Wales put on a sweet display on Christmas morning and wore matching outfits for their children.
In a symbol of unity after a tumultuous year following Kate’s cancer diagnosis, the Welsh family wore similar shades of green and blue for Wednesday’s Christmas morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, Norfolk.
Kate, 42, looked stylish in a forest green Alexander McQueen coat, which she previously wore during a visit to Leeds in January 2023.
The mother of three paired the coat with a fascinator, tartan scarf, black gloves and matching Gianvito Rossi boots.
The future queen carried a small Grace Han bag as she waved to the crowds in front of St. Mary Magdalene Church.
Princess Charlotte, nine, coordinated her look with Kate, wearing a knee-length coat in similar shades to her mother’s scarf.
Meanwhile, brothers Prince George, 11, and Prince Louis, six, opted for tartan ties, navy suits, white shirts and matching blue coats.
Echoing his mini-me sons, William, 42, looked dapper in a navy suit and matching coat, but unlike George and Louis, he opted for a dark blue tie.

It comes after body language expert Judi James weighed in on Kate and William during Wednesday’s festive event, saying William put a “fiery smile” on his wife’s face during a “worrying moment”.
As the royals gathered on Christmas Day for the annual walk to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, there was a brief “moment of worry” for the Princess of Wales, Judi said.
The expert explained that as Kate made her way through a crowd of royal admirers carrying bouquets, she had briefly shown a “serious expression”, suggesting she may have been feeling “tiredness or a moment of worry”.
The time came when William and Kate briefly separated, with the Prince of Wales busy speaking to clergy.
But ever the knight in shining armor, a quick exchange of glances with William immediately gave him the reassurance he needed, transforming his expression into a “fiery smile,” according to Judi.
The expert said: “She looked at William and the two of them exchanged a look that came with a ‘smile on fire’, meaning her expression responded to his smile with a wide, instant smile of her own.”
Nine-year-old Princess Charlotte echoed the dark green and blue tones of her mother’s scarf in her outfit.
London jewelry designer Robinson Pelham created Kate’s earrings, which featured blue jewels and diamonds.
Prince William, Prince George and Prince Louis looked equally dapper in black coats, white shirts and ties.
Her attendance came after joyous anticipation after what has been a grueling year for the Princess, who shocked the world with a shocking cancer diagnosis in March 2024.
According to Judi, Kate’s instant smile was “perhaps the most important body language signal of the current relationship” between the Welsh.
She added: “Their strongest moment of support here came from a distance then, but it was still a powerful sign of a tie between them and with that answering smile in place, Kate came out to greet the fans looking really happy and touched “.
According to Judi, the moment marked the prince’s continued efforts to “embrace, cherish and protect his wife during her health battles,” with his affection evident in the first tell-all video made about Kate’s illness earlier this year.
The princess underwent major abdominal surgery at the hospital, after which doctors broke the news to her that they had found evidence of cancer and advised her to undergo treatment immediately.
He began a gradual, measured return to public life after announcing he had completed preventive chemotherapy treatment in September.
Given that Christmas was a crucial feature in Kate’s slow comeback, there will no doubt have been “a strong desire to create a happy, carefree Christmas Day for her three children,” Judi said.
“We’ve seen William have to be more discreet with Kate, taking his usual familiar place of being on the other end of the line and watching on Christmas Day as Kate was consumed by the crowd waiting to offer her hugs of their own.”

“Her smiles would be a given, as the late queen’s legacy is all about stoicism, although a few edge-to-edge teeth were glimpsed behind her lips that hinted at internal tension, even though she knew that Sophie and even her very dashing and the experienced Jonny Thompson were close to Kate during all her Christmas outings and kept the most attentive eyes on her.
However, supporting her during the fleeting “moment of worry” – William’s distant smiles were exactly the remedy needed to reassure Kate and give her the support she needed to move forward.
Fans had been queuing at Sandringham since Christmas Eve night, with several people eager to wish Kate and the Royal Family a Merry Christmas after what has been a particularly difficult 12 months.
King Charles was also diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and the monarch is still undergoing treatment for the disease.
As King Charles, Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales entered the church, the crowd could be heard wishing them a “Merry Christmas!”
It was the second time the Wales family had been seen together in public since their appearance at Trooping the Colour, the King’s birthday parade, in June.
They were joined by senior members of the Royal Family, including Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall, and Princess Beatrice.
Earlier this month, the Welsh and other members of the Royal Family gathered for Kate’s special Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in London.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and their two children Archie and Lilibet remained in Montecito in California, United States.
For the Royals, the festivities usually begin when everyone arrives on Christmas Eve. The family opens their gifts, some of which are jokes, one of the traditions of the Royal Family.
The family then attends services at St. Mary Magdalene Church on Christmas morning. Once they get home, Christmas lunch is served, followed by games in the afternoon.
