Sabrina Carpenter’s boyfriend Barry Keoghan reportedly watched her rehearsals for the 2024 MTV Music Video Awards at UBS Stadium, despite skipping the show.
Although he wasn’t at the Elmont, Long Island, building to watch her sing a medley of her three biggest hits, released this year, the Irish actor, 31, supported his on-again, off-again girlfriend ahead of the ceremony.
Amid split rumors, a source told Page Six that the Saltburn star got a sneak peek of her space-themed set, in which she performed her tracks Please Please Please, Taste and Espresso, all from her most recent album Short n’ Sweet.
Carpenter left fans stunned when he took to the stage and even kissed a backup dancer, dressed as an alien in a full blue alien suit on Wednesday night.
He and Carpenter have yet to attend an awards show as each other’s dates, but previously made their red carpet debut at the Met Gala earlier this year.

Last month, People reported that the couple, who met after first crossing paths at PFW in September of last year, are in an “on-again, off-again” relationship.
This comes after it was claimed that Sabrina had dumped Barry in July due to his wild partying and “idiotic” behaviour when drunk.
When asked by Rolling Stone if she refers to Barry as her boyfriend, she said: “How can I avoid this question?”
“The dating pool is the pool, and when you meet people who seem authentic to you and are so brilliant and wonderful in every way, that’s what you do. Obviously, I write songs about exactly how I feel, so I guess I can’t be that surprised that people are interested in who and what those songs are about.”
She concluded: “That’s something that comes with the job.”
A source previously told The Sun that their alleged split came after she began to feel “increasingly frustrated” by how he acts when he’s drunk.
“He’s always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She’s topping the charts and putting herself first as she prepares for her tour next month,” the source claimed.
However, Barry appeared to dispel the split rumors by continuing to like her Instagram posts.

Fans were left heartbroken on Friday after celebrity gossip site DeuxMoi shared a tip claiming the duo had split.
On her Instagram, anonymous ‘Gossip Girl’ DeuxMoi shared a message that was sent to her on her Instagram, which read: ‘Sabrina and Barry broke up.’
But just two hours later, Barry put concerns to rest after liking a post of the Espresso singer in lingerie.
In June, Sabrina declared she was “in love for the first time” amid her romance with the Oscar nominee.
Talking with Vanity Fair She talked about her songwriting process and explained how “idol” Taylor Swift taught her to let the audience interpret the meanings of her songs: “I try not to tell people what a song is explicitly about.”
‘People don’t always know what’s going on in the mind of any given person, let alone a young woman who is going through love and many things for the first time.’
The singer-songwriter cleared up fan speculation suggesting her upcoming album Short N’ Sweet could feature lyrics inspired by the actor in a recent chat with Variety.
She also spoke about what it was like for the Oscar nominee to take on a leading role in her music video Please Please Please.
The Espresso singer may have disappointed some fans hoping for a broader look at her relationship when she admitted she tries to avoid topical material for her lyrics.
“It’s easier to write about things that happened in the past or haven’t happened yet,” he said.
Although you can get more clarity with enough distance, the delay in the compositing process seems to have caused some concerns in the studio.
“My producers tell me that I’m insisting on something that’s no longer true because I’m writing a song three years after the last time I spoke to the person who inspired the lyrics,” Sabrina admitted.

Despite her claims of focusing on things in the rearview mirror, Sabrina did have her actor boyfriend star in her music video Please Please Please, which features lyrics about a boyfriend who is an actor.
According to her, Barry was totally willing to participate in the filming of the music video, as he was a fan of the song.
“He loved the song. He’s obsessed with the lyrics and I’m so grateful for that,” Sabrina said.
He also took a moment to praise Barry following multiple acclaimed films, including The Banshees Of Inisherin, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
“I don’t want to sound biased, but I think he’s one of the best actors of this generation,” the singer said. “So being able to see him on screen with my song as the soundtrack made the video better and more special.”
Prior to his romance with Sabrina, Barry was in a two-year relationship with dental nurse Alyson Kierans, with whom he shares son Brando, who was born in August 2022, while Barry was filming Saltburn.
