Prosecutors are seeking an additional 18 months in prison for Rust gunsmith Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who faces sentencing Monday after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Halyna Hutchins.

Hutchins was accidentally shot and killed during the filming of Rust in October 2021 when Alec Baldwin was practicing with a gun with unloaded live ammunition that was Gutiérrez-Reed’s responsibility.

Prosecutors blamed Gutierrez-Reed in a two-week trial for unintentionally bringing live ammunition to the set of ‘Rust,’ where it was expressly prohibited. They also said he did not follow basic gun safety protocols.

The jury convicted her in March of involuntary manslaughter, which carries a serious sentence of up to 18 months and a $5,000 fine.

They say Gutierrez-Reed, 26, has shown no remorse for her actions and used foul language to describe jurors who convicted her and should double her sentence.

Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis filed a response to Gutierrez-Reed’s request for probation, arguing that she deserves exactly the opposite.

Morrissey urged the judge to impose the maximum prison sentence and designate Gutierrez-Reed as a ‘serious violent offender’ to limit her eligibility for a sentence reduction later, describing the defendant’s behavior on the set of ‘Rust’ as exceptionally reckless.

He said Gutierrez-Reed has shown a lack of remorse, citing comments Gutierrez-Reed made in phone calls from jailhouse conversations with her mother, her boyfriend and her attorney’s paralegal that are monitored by authorities.

Those comments included referring to the jury that convicted her as ‘morons,’ ‘idiots,’ and ‘scumbags.’

They have also said they want Baldwin, who fired the gun that killed Hutchins, to also go to jail and refuse to testify at her upcoming trial because “she shouldn’t be subpoenaed if Baldwin didn’t show up to see her.” ‘

“Hannah wants Alec Baldwin imprisoned as well,” prosecutors added in the filing.

She has also tried to get her legal team to ask Hutchins’ widower and son to speak on her behalf at her sentencing and has been angered by how the conviction has damaged both her life and her potential modeling career.

They say he has done all this without “ever expressing genuine remorse” and claim that the witnesses who testified at the trial are lying.

Gutierrez-Reed also, prosecutors say, faces another felony charge for concealing a firearm from security staff at a bar in New Mexico.

“After successfully getting past security at the bar, she went to the bathroom and made a selfie video saying, ‘They searched my bag but they didn’t touch my buttocks!’ Wah, wah, wah,’ the document says.

He also claims that other inmates have told him, “I can’t believe they threw your pretty little white butt in here for nothing” and compared prison food to cat food.

Attorney Jason Bowles said NBC News in a statement that his legal team “will most likely present a response tomorrow.”

Gutierrez-Reed was convicted in March by a jury on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Hutchins and has been held for more than a month in a county jail outside Santa Fe.

Baldwin, lead actor and co-producer of ‘Rust,’ was pointing a gun at Hutchins when the revolver went off, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.

The 30 Rock actor has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter and says he pulled the gun’s hammer, but not the trigger, before it fired.

His trial is scheduled for July before the same judge, Mary Marlowe Sommer, who oversaw Gutiérrez-Reed’s trial.
