Royal fans have hailed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as ‘class acts’ for their reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby news.
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Friday 4, weighing 7 pounds 11 oz at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle, 39, revealed yesterday on their Archwell Foundation’s website.

They shared the post along with a photo of Harry and Meghan’s February 14 pregnancy announcement, where the couple hugged in front of a tree on their property in Montecito.
Royal fans applauded second in line to the throne and praised him for acknowledging his brother on social media after months of tension.
“Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for your kindness and generosity,” one said.

Prince William and Kate joined other senior royals to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the ‘happy news’ of their daughter’s birth.
Their well wishes were joined by Harry’s father, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, who shared congratulations on social media.
The Prince of Wales also noted Lilibet’s middle name, Diana, which was given in honor of his late wife and Harry’s mother, Princess Diana.

An earlier abbreviated statement had been issued by Buckingham Palace confirming that the senior royals had been ‘informed’ about the birth.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “The Queen, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted to hear of the news of the birth of a daughter for the Duke and Duchess of sussex. ‘
A source has told We Weekly that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also ‘sent a gift to Lilibet’ after hearing of her birth.
Princess Eugenie, who gave birth to her son August in February, congratulated her ‘dear cousins’ in a post on her Instagram stories.
She shared a photo of Meghan and Harry when they announced the Duchess was pregnant, writing: “Congratulations, dear cousins.. we couldn’t be happier for all of you.”
The royals have not personally met the Duchess of Sussex or baby Archie since they initially left for Canada in March 2020 before settling in the US.
However, they were reunited with Prince Harry in April after he flew back from California to attend the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip.
It took two days for the news of the royal birth to be announced, and Meghan confirmed she was back home today to nurse the newborn after her press secretary announced the news earlier.
Unlike their son Archie who was born in 2019, the couple Harry has not yet released a photo of their daughter.

The new baby will have the right to be a princess and Archie a prince – both with HRH styles – after the death of the queen and when Charles becomes king. This is because they will have moved up the line of succession to become the children of a monarch’s son.
Despite Harry and Meghan quitting as senior working royals, the baby still has a place in the line of succession.
She is eighth in line to the throne, after Archie, who is seventh, and before the Duke of York, who has fallen to ninth.
The new baby is also a cousin to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis and a fifth grandchild for Charles, but will grow up across the Atlantic, thousands of miles away from the royal family – at a time of heartbreak and division within the Windsors.
Harry and Meghan revealed they were expecting a girl in March during their explosive tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. It was a brighter moment in a series of bombings that sent the monarchy into crisis.
Meghan accused an unnamed member of the royal family – neither the Queen nor the Duke of Edinburgh – of racism and said they expressed concern about how dark Archie’s complexion might be before he was born.
