Rory McIlroy is listed as Northern Ireland’s richest young man in the Sunday Times rich list for 2024, just days after filing for divorce.
The golfer’s net worth has soared to £225 million, after a £25 million rise last year, making him the richest person under 40 in the country.
Former billionaire Lady Ballyedmond tops the list, with a fortune of £914 million, in the definitive list of the 350 richest names. McIlroy is the thirteenth richest young man in the entire United Kingdom.
However, the 35-year-old’s value could be dented after the end of his seven-year marriage to Erica Stoll was confirmed this week.
Details of her separation from Stoll were revealed in court documents filed in Florida, which outlined joint custody and a parenting plan for their daughter, Poppy, and indicated that the couple had signed a prenuptial agreement.

Throughout his illustrious career, McIlroy has amassed £65 million on the green, the bulk of which has come from endorsements and commercial deals.
The world number two added to that total this week, as he earned another £2.8million for winning the Wells Fargo Championship last Sunday. However, the five-stroke victory came too late to be included on this year’s rich list.
He was seen still wearing his wedding ring during Quail Hollow last weekend, but it wasn’t on his finger during practice for the PGA Championship earlier this week.
The couple share a stunning $22 million mansion that sits on 2.4 acres of highly desirable land and is believed to have 10 bathrooms in addition to the nine bedrooms.
It also features a luxury infinity pool, as well as a game room, tennis court, home theater, recording studio and state-of-the-art gym, plus space for six cars in the garage.
McIlroy bought the house in Jupiter, Florida, within the gated Bear’s Club golf community, from golf legend Ernie Els in 2011 and it is now worth double the amount he paid for the property.

Together, the couple has a daughter, Poppy, and will dispute joint custody of the child.
The Northern Irishman is the one who plans to own luxurious homes in La Quinta, California, New York and Dubai. As well as a 19th century mansion in the United Kingdom, near Co. Down, where he grew up.
Stoll and McIlroy married in 2017 after meeting at the 2012 Ryder Cup, while Stoll was working for the PGA and McIlroy was still dating tennis star Caroline Wozniacki.
Together they have a daughter, Poppy, who was born in 2020 and remains at home in Florida while McIlroy is in Louisville, Kentucky, competing in the PGA Championship.
McIlroy, a four-time major winner, won the PGA Championship twice: in 2012 and 2014.
