Richard took up the new role in April this year, replacing Blanche d’Alpuget, the second wife of former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke.
Inspired by his son Adam to take on the role, Richard said at the time of his appointment that he was “delighted” to help such a valuable organisation.
“I have witnessed firsthand how it takes a community to raise a child, and especially one with a disability,” she said.
‘Adam has to be one of the happiest people on the planet, and that is because of the many exceptional people he has had in his life.
