Blonde was named Worst Picture at the Razzie Awards while Elvis was one of the other big ‘winners’ of the event.
The Marilyn Monroe biopic, starring Ana de Armas, took the dubious honor at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which honor the worst in cinema, as well as worst screenplay for writer-director Andrew Dominick.
Before celebrating the best movies of the season during the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, the Razzie Awards highlighted the worst on Saturday.
Awards bosses called Blonde, which was nominated for eight Razzie Awards, “misogynistic, lewd and deceitful” and “blatantly exploits the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe.”
They took the Worst Picture honor ahead of Good Mourning, Pinocchio, The King’s Daughter and Morbius.
Oh no: Blonde was named Worst Picture at the Razzie Awards on Friday night, while Elvis was one of the other big “winners” at the event.
Awkward: Tom Hanks, meanwhile, took home the award for worst supporting actor and worst screen combination, for himself and ‘his latex face,’ for his work on Elvis (Austin Butler pictured)
Not happy: organizers noted that the Hollywood darling “has spent his career broadening his acting chops to the big hit, he went too far with his take on Colonel Tom Parker in the excellent biopic Elvis.”

Organizers noted that the Hollywood darling “has spent his career expanding his acting capabilities to great success, going too far with his portrayal of Colonel Tom Parker in the excellent biopic Elvis.”
Tom was also nominated for worst actor for his role in Pinocchio, but he was won the dubious award by Morbius star Jared Leto, whose co-star Adria Arjona received worst supporting actress.
The Razzies themselves received the Worst Actress award, taking an award for the first time in their history following their much-criticized decision to include 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong in the category for her performance in the film Firestarter, which later he retired
Razzies co-founder John Wilson previously said of the decision: “Sometimes, you do things without thinking, then you get called out for it.” So you get it. That’s why the Razzies were created in the first place.
“The recent valid criticism of the choice of 11-year-old Armstrong as a nominee for one of our awards drew our attention to how insensitive we have been in this case.
‘As a result, we have removed Armstrong’s name from the final ballot our members will cast next month.
“We also believe that Ms. Armstrong is owed a public apology, and we wish to say that we are sorry for any harm she experienced as a result of our elections.”

Controversy ensued on Tuesday when Armstrong was nominated for worst actress for her performance in the film Firestarter, with many people taking to social media calling the awards show bullying and a toxic message in nominating a pre-teen artist.
Among those who expressed their discontent on social media was child actor Julian Hilliard, 11, who tweeted: “Razzies are already mean and classless but nominating a child is just repulsive and wrong.” Why put a child at risk of further bullying or worse? Be better.
In response to a user who called the show a joke, Hilliard replied: ‘No, not when it’s about a child. That “joke” can have a very negative impact. They crossed a line.
Another user said of the nomination: ‘This is beyond the pale. As a critic, I believe in being honest with movies, but there’s no reason to be cruel. Treating a child this way is monstrous.
Making amends: The Golden Raspberry Awards, known as the Razzies, removed Ryan Kiera Armstrong from its ballot, after callously nominating the tween in the Worst Actress category; seen in October 2022
Doing Better: Following a strong online backlash for including a minor among its nominees, the parody awards show, which annually honors the worst in film, has made the decision to introduce an age limit on nominations.
One user suggested that the show rescind Armstrong’s nomination after the decision involving Willis last year.
“Just like when they rescinded Bruce Willis’s Razzie Noms last year, I urge the #Razzies to rescind Ryan Kiera Armstrong’s Worst Actress nomination,” the user wrote. ‘They crossed the line. She is a girl. Kids should be OFF BOUNDS when it comes to Razzie. It’s time to rescind it and finish them off!
Another user suggested that “nominating a young talent isn’t fair” as they are still learning, and “is the equivalent of criticizing the first time someone cooks a complex recipe.”
Armstrong also appeared in American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021 and was primarily seen in the western The Old Way, starring Nicolas Cage, which was released earlier this month.
