An NRL star has been relentlessly mocked for a spelling mistake on his Instagram after announcing his engagement to his partner, who is pregnant with their third child.
Canberra Raiders star Jack Wighton shared the good news in a post on Monday, alongside photos of the Batemans Bay beach proposal.
The 27-year-old, who won the Dally M medal in 2020, welcomed partner Monisha Lew Fatt as his wife-to-be, with hashtags ‘forever and always’ and ‘she said yes’.
But eagle-eyed Instagram users noticed that Wighton misspelled “ fiancé ” – instead using the word “ finances ” to highlight the couple’s commitment to each other.

The NSW Blues player was called out for the accident by Instagram page Celeb Spellcheck, who often makes fun of celebrity and influencers’ spelling mistakes.
“Congratulations on the approval of your loan,” they wrote with a screenshot of Wighton’s Instagram post.
Instagram users kept the joke going in the comments section.
“I wonder if the baby will be called Cash?” one person wrote.
“Westpac or ANZ,” was another comment.
A third said, “Interest-free?”
