Queen Mary of Denmark looked stunning in a gorgeous gold and magnolia dress today as she hosted the royal couple’s New Year’s reception.

The Danish royal, 52, put on a dazzling display on Monday as she arrived at Christian VII’s Palace in Amalienborg alongside her husband King Frederik, 56, for the engagement.

The mother of two looked angelic in a long gold brocade dress with wide sleeves and a high neck.

The regal-looking dress, designed by Teri Jon for Rickie Freeman, was previously worn by Mary to an engagement last year, when the Queen made a state visit to Greenland alongside her husband.

Mary was photographed smiling sweetly as she stepped out in the stunning dress, polishing off the ensemble with a pair of crisp white gloves and a baby blue sash across her chest.

She rocked subtle yet classic makeup with a soft base, pink lips, and a glamorous smokey eye.

The royal wore her thick chocolate tresses in a sleek updo with her sleek bangs framing her face.

Complementing the look, she styled a pair of pearl earrings that perfectly complemented the subtle sparkle emanating from the gold embroidery on her dress.

Meanwhile, Frederik looks dapper in full military attire, sporting a full black suit, gold epaulets, and a sky blue sash the same shade as the one his wife wears.

He looked every inch the handsome king, sporting his usual subtle beard and short gray hair.

The couple, who she shares with Prince Christian of Denmark, 19, and Princess Elizabeth, 17, smiled from ear to ear as they were photographed strolling through Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen.

For the first part of today’s engagement, the royals arrived at Christian VII’s Palace in Amalienborg to greet the judges of the Supreme Court, the Royal Life Guards and the Guard House Regiments.

As the day progressed, the couple was whisked away so they could attend a second reception for the Diplomatic Corps at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen.

It comes after the Danish royals were seen dressed to the nines as they hosted the Royal Family’s annual New Year’s dinner for the first time, hosting a fairytale-like evening.

The Australian-born mother of four turned heads in a floor-length bottle green dress with a lace neckline and sleeves, as well as a cinched waist to show off her enviable figure.

She paired her velvet dress with an emerald and diamond tiara and matching earrings, while sporting glamorous makeup and holding a sparkling silver clutch.

With her hair pulled back in a half-up, half-down style, Mary looked perfect alongside her husband, 56, who wore a military suit for the lavish occasion.

They were joined by their handsome son, Crown Prince Christian; The 19-year-old put on a handsome display in white tie as he made what is believed to be his first appearance at the event.

The guest list also included Princess Benedikte, 80, and the Danish king’s brother Prince Joachim, who attended with his stunning wife Princess Mary at Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen.

Last year, Queen Margaret, 84, announced her shock abdication in her New Year’s Eve address to the nation, marking the end of her era as Europe’s longest-serving monarch.

She hosted that year’s gala before her son succeeded her as the country’s monarch on January 14, 2024.

Although it was now Mary and Frederik’s turn to host the New Year’s dinner, Margrethe was still present at tonight’s event and stepped out in a vibrant blue dress.

Holding a cane, the former monarch sported a sparkling tiara and eye-catching fur coat as she arrived at the royal occasion.

Her sister, Princess Benedikte, looked equally stunning in a tiara, a purple dress, pearl necklaces and a white fur shawl.

She rocked subtle yet classic makeup with a soft base, pink lip, and a glamorous smoky eye.

The appearance by the Danish Royal Household comes after Queen Mary wished royal fans a “merry Christmas and peace” as she posed alongside her family for a festive portrait on Instagram.

The royal appeared to be in high spirits as she posed alongside her husband, King Frederik, and their four children, Prince Christian, Princess Elizabeth, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

She opted for a chic winter ensemble, donning a cream turtleneck and opting to wear her brunette hair down with a wavy blow-dry.

Her mother-in-law, Queen Margaret, also appeared in the touching photo.

The former monarch put her fashionable best foot forward, wearing a pink and gray tartan-print jacket, an olive green jumper and a long skirt, along with a pair of chunky black loafers.
