Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan has shared sweet photos of her children on the occasion of the historic opening of Wangduechhoeling Palace.
The Queen of Bhutan, nicknamed the Kate Middleton of the Himalayas, made the decision instagram to share a selection of snapshots from the event.
The royal, 34, shared images from the consecration ceremony that marked the restoration of the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Center, a decade-long project.
Members of the royal family, the Prime Minister, senior officials and dignitaries graced the ceremony. However, it was Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel, eight, and Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck, four, who stole the show, looking equally adorable in traditional outfits.
The brothers played a central role in the ceremony, officially marking the opening of the palace by releasing material blocking the entrance.

Meanwhile, Queen Jetsun Pema looked typically stunning in a colorful ensemble, which featured a dark green robe.
On Instagram, the royal wrote: “His Majesty the Gyaltsuen graced the consecration ceremony of the Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Center today.
‘Their Majesties the Gyalyums, members of the Royal Family, the Prime Minister, senior officials and dignitaries attended the ceremony, which was presided over by the Venerable Dorji Lopen.
‘The decade-long project to restore the historic Wangduechhoeling Palace and establish the Museum and Cultural Center began in 2012 under the initiative and direction of His Majesty Gyalyum Tseyring Pem Wangchuck.
‘Led by the Bhutan Foundation, the project was implemented in collaboration with the Department of Dzongkha Culture and Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
‘The ambitious effort included contributions from international conservation experts, who worked alongside Bhutanese artisans to enhance local expertise in heritage conservation.
‘His Majesty the Gyaltsuen thanked friends of Bhutan who contributed numerous Bhutanese artifacts from private collections abroad to the Museum’s collection.
‘The extensive restoration project was supported by international donors, the US Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation and the Royal Government of Bhutan.
The royal siblings sweetly embraced each other as they posed for a photo at the glamorous event.

‘Under a Royal Kasho granted by His Majesty the King on April 25, 2024, Wangduecholing Palace Museum and Cultural Center will operate under the patronage of His Majesty the Gyaltsuen and a Board of Directors.
‘Conceived as a dynamic cultural institution, the Museum will host educational programs, research initiatives and exhibitions that celebrate the history of Bhutan as a living tradition.
‘By engaging local and international audiences, it aims to deepen appreciation for Bhutan’s rich heritage.
“Wangduechhoeling Palace Museum and Cultural Center is scheduled to open to the public in 2025.”
It comes after Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan shared two new photos of her daughter on her first birthday to mark a national holiday last month.
The Queen of Bhutan took instagram to share Sonam Yangden Wangchuck’s images.
The 34-year-old royal shared never-before-seen images to mark Tshechu, a religious festival in Bhutan.
In the post, the one-year-old girl wore a traditional outfit in a deep red shade with colorful prints.
The young royal looked just as adorable in the second image, where she gazed sweetly at her side.
The royal brothers appeared to have a central role in the ceremony and opened the entrance to the building.
Jestun Pema wrote: ‘Happy Tsechu Holidays to everyone in Thimphu! To celebrate, we are delighted to share these photographs of HRH Gyalsem Sonam Yangden Wangchuck taken on her first birthday on September 9, 2024.
The royal, who is married to King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan, 44, added: “May your celebrations be filled with joy and togetherness!”
Sonam, who was born last year, is a Bhutanese name that denotes “merit, longevity and good fortune.”
It comes after Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan posted two photographs to mark her son Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck’s fourth birthday in March.
The second son of King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan sported a radiant smile as he played outside in the first image.
Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck, second in the line of succession after his elder brother Gyalsey Jigme Namgyel, looked elegant in his traditional dress.
The second image featured a close-up of the four-year-old boy while holding flags with a dragon design, presumably taken on the Lunar New Year, which marked the beginning of the year of the dragon.
In the snap, she looked towards the camera with a calm expression while wearing a traditional Bhutanese outfit.
The Queen shared the photos with the caption: “Happy birthday to His Royal Highness Gyalsey Ugyen Wangchuck who turns 4 today.”
Jigme Ugyen Wangchuck was born on March 19, 2020, at Lingkana Palace in Thimphu.
